Hundreds flock AR’s Career counselling programme in Ukhrul

The career guidance focused on the overview of recruitment process in Indian Armed Forces and overview of upcoming recruitment programmes. It gives special emphasis on AGNIVEER – eligibility, recruitment, training, service and financial package.

Hundreds of youths have turned up at Career Guidance For Indian Armed Forces organised by the 35 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Sector Assam Rifles at Ukhrul Headquarters.

The programme was attended by DIG of 10 Sector Somsai Brigadier Vaibhav Shinde, Additional DIG, Colonel Dipankar Basu, CO of 35 AR (Somsai) Colonel Manoj Shinde, CO of 42 AR (Chassad/Kamjong), Colonel Vikas Dubey, CO of 24 AR (Shangshak) Colonel Tejas B Candade and Maj Rahul Chawla, Post Commander of Ukhrul Town Post.

Around 400 defence job aspirants participated in the programme. They were seen taking keen interest in the recruitment process by raising various queries to the AR officials to clear their confusion. One of the main attractions of today’s programme was the display of weapons. Participants could be seen checking out the weapons put on display.

The 35 AR also gave out leaflets containing details on where to get the form and how to apply for the various armed forces, including the various information on age, qualification and documents required while applying.

On being asked why the Assam Rifles stopped conducting the recruitment in Ukhrul Headquarters, DIG of 10 Sector, Brigadier Vaibhav Shinde said, “I will clarify from the higher authority, and hopefully, we can conduct the recruitment here in the future.”
