Free medical camps held at remote villages in 45-Chingai Assembly Constituency

Expressing gratitude for organising such programme, Chairman of Phungcham VDC Ngathingkhui Horam said, “due to lack of medical facilities and the non-functioning of Phungcham PHC, many villagers are facing hardship in this time of Covid-19 pandemic.”

Free medical camps were organised in remote villages in 45-Chingai Assembly Constituency in Ukhurl district. Free health screenings were conducted at Phungcham village on Sunday by a medical team consisting of specialist doctors and nurses . Around 350 villagers turned up for medical consultations and health screenings. Free sugar and blood tests were made available and free medicines were also distributed to all the consulting patients during the camp.

Phungcham Village Development Council (VDC) lauded Ningam Chamroy (Retd. IAS), BJP intending candidate from 45-Chingai Assembly Constituency, for holding free medical camp at the village. Phungcham Village Authority, Phungcham Katamnao Mayar Ngala Long, Phungcham Shanao Long, church leaders and village elders accorded warm welcome to the visiting dignitaries and medical team.

Chairman of Phungcham VDC Ngathingkhui Horam said that “due to lack of medical facilities and the non-functioning of Phungcham PHC, many villagers are facing hardship in this time of Covid-19 pandemic.”

Similar programme was also taken up at Paorei Village. Chairman of Paorei Village, Robust Pheirei on behalf of the villagers expressed gratitude to Ningam Chamroy. He said, “In this time of Covid-19 pandemic when the villagers were hesitant to go to hospital, around 400 villagers had the opportunity to come out and check their health status during the free medical camp.”

The medical team consisted of five specialist doctors, three nurses and one pharmacist. Similar programme was also carried out at Peh village on Monday.
