Alleging misappropriation of fund, the work agencies of the 14th Finance Commission of 2017-2018 of Tamenglong Autonomous District Council (TADC) on Thursday urged the concerned authority to take an exemplary appropriate action against those corrupt officials so as to prevent further misleading and gross misappropriation of the fund in the district.

They accused the then chief executive officer (CEO) Dinganglung Gangmei and the chairman of  TADC  Namsinrei Panmei (Asin Panmei) of cheating the innocent work agencies and beneficiaries.

“Such corrupt officials of the TADC, including the chairman and the then CEO, shall be booked and punished according to the law of the land. The public have lost trust in such public servants/civil servants who do not hesitate to commit the act of gross misappropriation and cheating the innocent work agencies and beneficiaries,” said Majalan Kamei and Alan Kamei, work agencies of Kambiron village and Puiluanh village, respectively in a release on Thursday

The release further said that before the public and the concern authority, the work agencies or beneficiaries mentioned in the work agencies or beneficiaries list of TADC 14th Finance Commission Fund, the work agencies are not a party to the signatories of any document related to issuing of work order or issuing of check slip or APR slip or withdrawal of money from the duo’s bank accounts.

The work agencies or beneficiaries of the TADC of 2017-2018, 14th Finance Commission Fund also draw the attention of the concerned authority to award befitting punishment to those corrupt officials as their crime is big enough to attract legal action at the earliest.

“It is our sincere request to the concerned authority to be vigilant against the likely concocted stories and theories that may come up to destroy the evidence between the period of inquiry and the summoning of the accused by the Lokayukta/Corruption Court for necessary justice”.

Furthermore, the release accused the then CEO of threatening complainants with dire consequence if they do not withdraw the complaint pending in the LokAyukta. It urged authority to suspend Dinganglung Gangmei (Dipu Gangmei) from his service.

The release argued that the suspension of Dipu Gangmei from his service is necessary, because unless such action is taken against him, no logical inquiry or investigation could be brought home as substantial evidence is likely to be destroyed and manipulated by him.

The then CEO of TADC should be held responsible for any untoward incident that happens to the lives and relatives of the complainants, it added.
