COVID-19: Manipur records 4,083 recoveries in single day

While the recovery rate has improved to 89.87 per cent, active cases in the state slumped to 5,668.

In a record, 4,083 persons were discharged in Manpur on Friday, taking the recovery rate to 89.87 per cent. Active cases in the state slumped to 5,668.

On Friday, 628 persons were discharged from Home Isolation (330), RIMS (13), JNIMS (5), CCCs (86) and CHICS (194). But according to the daily update by the Health Department, due to various reasons, 3,455 persons are reported as discharged cases only on Friday.

“Therefore, the total number of recovered cases is considered as 4,083 after Reconciliation with reports from IDSP Team, Home Isolation Team. Community Home Isolation and Hospitalization Team as on 24th June, 2021,” it said.

The state reported 585 new COVID-19 cases and eight deaths, taking the total number of infections to 66,756 and 1,093 total deaths.

Imphal East and Imphal West continue to report the majority of the new cases with 101 and 212 respectively. The other positive cases from the general population are — 69 from Thoubal, 54 from Bishnupur, 53 from Churachandpur, 31 from Kakching, 18 from Tamenglong, 15 each from Jiribam and Kangpokpi, seven from Ukhrul, four from Chandel, three from Tengnoupal, two from Noney, and one from Senapati.

In the last 24 hours ending 5 pm Friday, the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported eight COVID-19 deaths. Three persons from Kakching, two from Thoubal, and one each from Bishnupur, Imphal East and Imphal West died at RIMS (1), JNIMS (2), Shija Hospital (3), Raj Medicity (1), and Jivan Hospital (1).

Oxygen Status

According to the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 1,795 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 324 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur.
