Committee for Socialist Movement Manipur (CSMM) observed the May Day

CSMM was formed as the observation committee with an aim of spreading the idea of an egalitarian society.

Committee for Socialist Movement Manipur (CSMM) observed May Day by distributing gifts to the workers saluting the spirit of the workers, who despite the hardships continue to struggle. 

CSMM in a release on Sunday, stated that the day was observed by visiting the workplace, adhering to the COVID Standard Operating Protocol (SOP). CSMM was formed as the observation committee with an aim of spreading the idea of an egalitarian society and it will observe several occasions about the farmers and workers, it added. 

The observation committee said that owing to the prevailing situations induced by the COVID-19 pandemic, the May Day 2021 was not able to be observed widely. Nevertheless, the day was observed by paying tributes to Hijam Irabot and remembering his teachings and ideas. 

The role played by the farmers and workers in today’s world was also discussed. The hardships being faced by them, especially during the pandemic, was dressed upon, it added.
