25 Covid -19 positive pregnant women deliver their babies at RIMS since April 1

The Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department conducted C-section on 11 women, while 14 pregnant women had vaginal deliveries.

Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal on Sunday announced that the institute has successfully delivered babies of 25 COVID-19 positive pregnant women since April 1, 2021. 

A release by the media advisor of RIMS said that a team led by RIMS Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department head Prof M Rameshwar Singh with the support of its COVID team led by a professor and consultant of Gynaecology successfully delivered the babies. 

The department conducted C-section on 11 women, while 14 pregnant women had vaginal deliveries. The department was able to conduct the deliveries smoothly due to support of the faculty members from the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Department of Anesthesiology, nursing officials and paramedical staff, the release stated.  

“We further appeal to follow SOPs issued by the government from time to time and COVID-19 Appropriate behavior strictly,” it added.
