In view of the water scarcity problems in Ukhrul Town, the 35 Assam Rifles, Somsai under the initiative of Commandant, Col. Manoj Shinde distributed 27,000 litres of water with water bowsers at seven localities of Ukhrul Headquarters, namely Awongtang, Alungtang, Tangrei, Greenland, Kasomtang, Meizalung and Luiyainaotang.

The scarcity of water has hit once again the hill district of Ukhrul. The dry spell season has created hardship among the household. The problems of water scarcity are being faced by the populace of Ukhrul every year. Long-term measures to solve the water crisis have become a challenge for everyone.
