AMSU hails government’s plan to reopen schools, colleges

The students’ union also urged the authority to conduct offline classes for at least two months for the students appearing in the Class X and Class XII examinations and also to announce their results at the same time as before.

All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) on Saturday welcomed the government’s plan to reopen schools and colleges which remained closed for almost a year due to COVID-19 pandemic. It also urged the authority concerned to make appropriate SOP for smooth reopening of the educational institutions.

AMSU, in a release, said that since the first phase of vaccination is underway there is a need to issue guidelines to the students and their parents in advance through different mediums.

The students’ union also appealed to the head or principals of the institutes to communicate with the students and parents in advance through the website or WhatsApp groups. Meetings can also be held with the parents to assure the safety when the offline classes begin. It also urged the students to co-operate and learn as much as they can from the teachers in the short period of time.

AMSU also welcomed the appointment of secretary and examination controller of BOSEM by the government in view of the ensuing Class X examination. It also urged the authority to conduct offline classes for at least two months for the students appearing in the Class X and Class XII examinations and also to announce their result at the same time as before.
