Manipuri Students’ Federation (MSF) on Friday inspected the Manipur Oxygen Plant at Bishnupur and Bishnupur District Hospital. The inspection team found that the plant was unable to produce adequate Oxygen and there were shortages of Oxygen cylinders at the hospital.
The team was headed by MSF Head Office general secretary Hijam Roshan along with members of MSF Bishnupur District Committee.
Speaking to media persons, Roshan said that there is fear that the state might face shortage of Oxygen due to the prevailing situations caused by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Stating that the Manipur Oxygen Plant, Bishnupur was found unable to produce adequate Oxygen, he urged the state government to look into the matter.
He also said that Bishnupur District Hospital and Bishnupur COVID Care were found without the required number of Oxygen cylinders. The COVID care centre was also found having power problems. He urged the government to look into the power supply and Oxygen supply to the hospital as well as the COVID care centres.
