Nagaland Congress Pradesh Committee (NPCC) president, K Therie, on Monday has said that the “long pending” protracted issue of the Naga political is still caught in a “road block”.
Addressing a press conference on Monday at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur, Therie, who once hold the position of finance minister has also questioned the “Core Committee” that whether the protracted Naga political issue is still kept in a “cold storage”.
Just some months ahead of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) due in the early part next year, Therie was in his position to “voice” by stating that the July 16 statement issued and taken into consideration by the Parliamentary Committees of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) was still to be received from the “negotiating party(s)”.
According to the state Congress president, Therie, it was a betrayal on the part of the state government as well as the Centre in “fooling” the Nagas by way of bringing an early solution to the decades old Naga political issue.

NPCC announces for secular alliance
Meanwhile, keeping in mind the many facet with regard to the NLA elections, Therie said that instead of the long process since the announcement of elections to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) due in the early next year, implementation of the “political solution” is more important than the election.
Coming down heavily on the political seat sharing policies being declared in the state, the NPCC president during the press meet disclosed that a “secular alliance” with any “like-minded” political party (s) are welcomed into its fold by stating that the Congress exercise fully the “democratic principles” in “de-centralizing” powers within. In this regard, the NPCC chief has also disclosed that a “non-BJP” alliance in the state.
