The man identified as one Kitoka Yepthomi (25) hired an Innova taxi and visited the woman’s residence at around 6 am Saturday morning after which he reportedly shot the woman pastor before taking taking his own life with the same weapon, said the police.

A man allegedly killed himself after shooting dead a woman who is reportedly a youth pastor from Kiyevi village under Chumukedima district, Nagaland, Saturday morning.
According to a source, both the accused and the victim were known to each other for a long time and allegedly had an “affair” but when the accused proposed to the girl for marriage on several occasions, the girl refused citing reasons that she needed time as she was committed in serving in church ministry.
The source also informed that the repeated refusal from the woman youth pastor led to an altercation after the man identified as one Kitoka Yepthomi (25) hired an Innova taxi and visited the woman’s residence at around 6 am Saturday morning after which he reportedly shot the woman pastor before taking the drastic steps in taking his own life with the same weapon.
Meanwhile, when contacted, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP Crime), and PRO, Dimapur, Bharat Laxman, when contacted confirmed about the unfortunate incident where two lives were lost.
He said that a Suo-Moto FIR has been registered at Chumukedima police station in this connection. Laxman later informed that after necessary legal formalities, handed over the bodies to family members, however, he didn’t divulge any subsequent details as the case was under investigation.
