Nagaland BJP president Temjen hits campaign trail for Manipur Assembly polls

Nagaland Minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs and BJP Nagaland Pradesh president Temjen Imna Along on Saturday said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Biren Singh, the government of India will continue its efforts to develop Manipur with the support of the local population.

The Nagaland State BJP president said this while campaigning for the saffron party candidate Heikham Dingo Singh for Sekmai Assembly Constituency at Kanglatongbi ahead of the first phase February 28 Assembly Election.

Speaking in impeccable Hindi, the Naga leader said that Manipur has achieved exceptional development in the last five years under the leadership of N Biren Singh led state government. “Therefore, I urged the people to continue their support for the BJP and take the state to the path of prosperity”, he said.

At the Kanglatongbi campaign function, Temjen Imna Along was accompanied by Raju Bista, Member of Parliament from Darjeeling Lok Sabha Constituency, West Bengal; Manipur BJYM President, Barish Sharma among others.

Raju Bista said that under the leadership N Biren Singh, “issues concerning the Gorkha community are being addressed”. He appealed to the Gorkha community to not look at individual candidates, but to vote for the BJP, the party has “provided respect, dignity and justice to the Gorkhas”.

He further added, “It is our responsibility and duty to ensure that we elected BJP government once more with absolute majority, so that we can continue with the process of development started in the first term. We have to work to strengthen their hands, so that they can work to ensure a strong Manipur and a strong India”.

Heikham Dingo Singh is the sitting MLA from the Sekmai Assembly Constituency that has large number of Gorkha voters.

Meeting at Kangpokpi District Headquarters

Temjen Imna Along, at another meeting at Kangpokpi District Headquarters also asked the voters to let the BJP candidate Nemcha Kipgen win the election Kangpokpi constituency with a record margin for inclusive governance.

During the meeting, the BJP Nagaland Pradesh President also said, “It is not a time to sleep or rest rather a time to work harder and exhibit the true spirit of being the largest political party worker”. He also motivated the BJP workers to stay strong and said BJP is the only party that is inclusive and is well known by the people.

The BJP Nagaland Pradesh President, Temjen Imna Along was accompanied by Benjamin Yepthomi, state Vice President, Basu Damani, State Vice President, Kuputo Shohe, Chief Spokesperson, Nini Cheng, Co-Chief Spokesperson, Eduzu Theluo, state General Secretary, Khevishe Achumi, State General Secretary, Mahesh Kotecha, state Treasurer, Sanjit, State Vice President(Minority Morcha), Wangphong Konyak, state President (ST Morcha) and Hokaito Zhimomi, state Spokesperson.
