As Manipur reported the highest single day spike with 1,171, the state reported more than 1,000 fresh cases for four days in a row. With this, the number of active cases in the state surged to 10,812.

In the last 24 hours, the State-Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 15 COVID-19 deaths, taking the death toll to 1,365. Out of the 15 deaths, six were from Imphal West, three from Churachandpur, two from Bishnupur, and one each from Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching, and Jiribam, as per the Health Department.
Imphal West and Imphal East reported the majority of the new cases with 358 and 255 cases. The other positive cases from the general population are — 141 from Bishnupur, 96 from Churachandpur, 94 from Thoubal, 82 from Kakching, 53 from Tamenglong, 42 from Chandel, 21 from Kangpokpi, 13 from Senapati, five from Tengnoupal, four each from Jiribam and Ukhrul, two from Pherzawl and one from Kamjong.
On Saturday, 742 persons were discharged from — Home Isolation (302), RIMS (18). JNIMS (13). CCCS (123) and CHICS (286). The recovery rate stood at 87.10 per cent.
The total number of infections in the state has surged to 83,859. Out of which 73,047 individuals have recovered so far.
As per the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 1796 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 315 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur. District hospitals and government institutions have 452 D, 103 B type filled cylinders.
On Friday, 27,149 doses of COVID vaccine were administered. With this the number of individuals who have been administered the second dose crossed the one lakh mark. So far, 10,10,355 — 9,00,954 first dose and 1,09,401 second dose — have been administered.
As of Friday, 2,263 COVID patients are admitted in different treatment facilities in the state and 1,961 beds are available. The number of patients admitted or adjusted against available bed strengths are RIMS (225/224), JNIMS (237/286), I Land Hospital (31/60), District COVID Facilities (150/347), MSF (21/30), Private COVID Hospitals (230/330) and CCCs (1,369/2,946).
