8 hours night curfew in Nagaland from January 9; Fresh SOPs issued

Any person entering the State, above 12 years of age, including those fully vaccinated, shall be required to carry a negative COVID-19 test report done through RT-PCR, True Nat, CBNAAT with the swab given for testing not earlier than three days of the date of arrival.

Nagaland government on Saturday issued fresh Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to prevent COVID-19 infection and the possibility of a surge in positive cases. The state has imposed 8 hours night curfew in the entire state starting January 9 from 9 pm till 5 am the next day.

A communiqué issued by Principal Secretary, Home, Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha, also said that the government has suspended offline classes for upto Classes 8 till January 31. Any student of Class 9 and above who have completed 15 years of age would be allowed to take admission or attend regular/offline classes only if he or she has taken at least the first vaccination dose against COVID-19.

Allowing limited public gatherings to 200 persons subject to all participants being asymptomatic, and fully vaccinated against COVID-19, other places of entertainment and recreation areas have also been permitted to open with 50 percent capacity.

Person or group of persons acting in violation of the said directions, as well as all the other existing orders, SOPs, or guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19 would be liable to be prosecuted against under the relevant Sections of the Disaster Management Act’2005, besides action under Section 188 of the IPC and other legal provisions as applicable.
