The District Administration of Ukhrul in collaboration with the Ukhrul Forest Division observed World Environment Day on Sunday. “Only One Earth” calls for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet. As part of World Environment Day observation, a tree plantation drive was carried out inside the premises of Mini Secretariat Complex, Ukhrul. The tree plantation programme was led by Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Krishna Kumar, DFO Ukhrul, Shanngam Shaliwo, Addl. SP of Ukhrul, Syed Samad, ZEO of Ukhrul, RK. Makaohei and other heads of departments.
NSS Unit-I of St. Joseph College cleans up community pond
As part of World Environment Day celebrations, NSS Unit-I of St. Joseph College, Ukhrul also carried out social work at Awungtang, Hunphun. “The volunteers cleaned the community water pond of the village” informed Masopam Kasar, Programme Officer National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit-I of St. Joseph College, Ukhrul.
Tree plantation drive at Lungnila Elizabeth College, Senapati
Lungnila Elizabeth College, Senapati in Collaboration with Senapati Forest Division, Government of Manipur and Nehru Yuva Kendra, Senapati observed World Environment Day with the theme “Only One Earth” on 5th June, 2022. A tree plantation drive was carried out from Lungnila Elizabeth College to Senapati District Hospital along with John Sha, District Forest Officer and his team, Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Director, CAF & PD, Zonal Education Officer, Agriculture Officer, Officer-in-Charge and his team and Civil Society Organisations of Senapati.
