Stating that KYKL does not and should not have any relation with Thounaojam Brinda fighting election in Yaiskul Assembly Constituency, the outfit urged the people to stay alert against the conspiracy of the Manipur government and Manipur police to malign the “Kanglei revolutionary movement for independence” by intimidating the innocent people.

The proscribed outfit, Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) on Wednesday clarified that Yumkhaibam Bimol Meitei of Lilong Arapti Maning Leikai, who was arrested by Imphal West Commando on Tuesday, has no connection to the outfit.
*Leave aside the claim of him being an overground worker of the outfit, KYKL does not even know who Bimol is,” stated a release by the outfit’s Publicity and Research secretary A Yaiphaba.
Reacting to the claim made by the police that Bimol is an overground worker of KYKL, the outfit maintained that it was baseless and fabricated by the police.
Addressing a press conference at the Manipur Press Club on Tuesday, Bimol’s daughter Yumkhaibam Tampha said that the commando personnel had maintained that his father was arrested as per an order by the Superintendent of Police of Imphal West. One of the police personnel told Bimol, while arresting, that his “biggest mistake” was going to another assembly constituency and speaking at the public meeting of Thounaojam Brinda, an aspiring candidate from Yaiskul assembly constituency, Tampha added.
“KYKL wants to clarify to the Manipur government and the people of the state that the outfit does not believe in electoral politics of India,” the release stated.
KYKL is an outfit waging an ” armed revolutionary war” for an independent Manipur against India, the outfit said, while adding that the outfit has not been involved in any election of India in the past, and will not get involved in the future as well.
