Ukhrul: Sensitisation cum Training Programme on FPC Management, Food Processing And Value Addition

DSSS conducted two days sensitization cum training program on FPC management, food processing and value addition for Haoram Farmer Producer Company Limited at Peh Village.

Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation a two days sensitization cum training program on FPC management, food processing and value addition for Haoram Farmer Producer Company Limited at Peh Village, Ukhrul District, Manipur on 24 and 25 September 2022.

CEO, of Semka FPC Limited, Singyaongam Shiyang and DSSS Coordinator of Ukhrul District, Solomon Yamro were the two resource persons of the programme. Around 51 members attended the said programme. The resource persons stressed on the need of food processing and value additions on various agricultural produces. They emphasized that such skill – oriented practices will increase the farmers income and boost the local economy.

Practical session on making of green chili pickles, sweet ginger candy, salty banana chips, tamarillo(tree tomato) jam, sumac powder candy, kiwi jam and king chili pickle were taken up in the two days programme.

The two days training on food processing and value addition program was conducted to sensitize and empower the farmers from various Farmer Interest Group (FIG) under Haoram FPC through skill development.
