A consultative programme of NGOs operating in Ukhrul District was held on Friday and “Ukhrul Network for Social Justice” was formed with the objective to form a support system for children and women issues. The programme was organised by FXB India Suraksha at Zimik Plaza Conference Hall, Viewland, Ukhrul.
The focus of the meeting was on child abuse, children in conflict with law, gendered based violence and human trafficking. 29 members from fifteen organisations present at the consultative programme have decided to form a forum known as “Ukhrul Network for Social Justice” with the objective to form a support system for children and women issues.
Wungreiso Shangh of FXB has been made the Convenor with Co-convenors, viz; Shaingam R Shimray, Theophilus Rimai and Vima Vashum.
The forum will approach non-state actors and CSOs to form a network involving the localities and villages and work with youths. It will also advocate state system for better service provision among others.
The consultative programme was attended One Stop Centre (OSC Ukhrul), Ukhrul District Community Resource Management Society (UDCRMS) Ukhrul District Women Institute of Micro-credit (UDWIM), Action of Women In Development (AWID), Indo Global Socail Service Society (IGSSS), CARE, Community Welfare Development Society, Alpha International Ministry and others.Attachments area
