In an unfortunate incident, a minor and a youth on Saturday died when a bomb exploded at Gangpimual village, Churachandpur. As many as seven others, including children, have sustained injuries.
The bomb exploded at around 7:30 pm in the backyard of the residence of one Niangzahau (62) W/O Late Paozathang in Gangpimual village, STC BSF Road.
The deceased, who died at District Hospital, Churachandpur, in the unfortunate incident have been identified as Master Mangminlal (6) S/O Neklemlal of Gangpimual and Langinsang (22) S/O Thangchinpau of Ngathal, Churachandpur.
The injured persons, being treated at District Hospital, Churachandpur, have been identified as – Liansualal (18) S/O CT John of Zion Veng; Manladia (28) D/O Niangzahau of Gangpimual; Siamboi (19)
S/O Lalumpui of Salem Veng; Muanbiakmuan (15) D/O Kimgaihlen (Ginlamchin) of Gangpimual; Thangbiaklun (34) S/O Late Thangnou of Gangpimual.
As per sources, Liansualal’s condition is said to be serious. Some of the injured persons have been referred to Imphal for further treatment. The dead bodies have been deposited in the mortuary.
