A sum of Rs. 7 crore approximately was spent in the construction of the church.

The much awaited Union Baptist Church, Ukhrul was inaugurated on Friday by Rev. Dr. Mathotmi Vasha, Executive Secretary of Tangkhul Baptist Churches Association.
Thousands of people attended the inauguration programme. A feast was given for the adults in the morning and school going children in the evening.
Chairman of New Church Building Committee, Hoping Phungshok informed that a sum of Rs. 7 crore approximately was spent in the construction of the church.
The inauguration programme was also attended by church leaders from different parts of Tangkhul area.
Situated in the heart of Ukhrul Town, the new church is open to everyone and will be more convenient for its members compared to the old church which was located away from the main road.
