As a preparation for the 75th India Independence Day celebration, the NCC cadets of St. Jospeh College Unit, Ukhrul have conducted a cleanliness drive at the Gandhi Chowk in Ukhrul’s Phungreitang.
Caretaker of NCC St. Joseph College Unit Chonchui Magdalene told this correspondent that this cleanliness drive is a part of preparation for the celebration of forthcoming 75th India Independence Day. The St. Jospeh College will be celebrating this year’s Independence Day at the college campus, she added..
She further said that there are 60 women cadets being inducted from their college at 65 Manipur NCC Company in 2020. The prestigious St. Jospeh College is affiliated to Manipur University and Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur. St.
Joseph College is the first Catholic College in Ukhrul District of Manipur. The College was inaugurated on 1st May 2015. The College is located in a spacious campus in Ukhrul District Headquaters, which is about 84 kilometers from Imphal, along the National Highway 202. The College has now BA (started in 2015), B. Sc (started in 2018) and BSW (started in 2019). The Bachelor’s Degree Course is affiliated to Manipur University. The Pre-University Course (Class XI and Class XII) Science and Arts is affiliated to the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur.
