Six deaths, 589 fresh Covid-19 infections reported in Manipur

Out of 5,873 test results received on Saturday, 589 persons were found COVID-I9 positive in Manipur in past 24 hours taking cumulative caseload to 63.538.

According to Manipur government’s Covid 19 common control room report, the positive persons were tested at RIMS (16), JNIMS (35), District Hospitals (357) and other testing centres (184).

The positive cases from general population are from Imphal East (102), Imphal West (160), Thoubal (64), Bishnupur (57), Kakching (65), Ukhrul (10), Churachandpur (38), Chandel (1), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (6), Tengnoupal (47), Kangpokpi (29), Kamjong (1) and Jiribam (1). All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the report said.

Meanwhile, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee has reported six Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours. “The District wise distributions are Imphal West (1), Imphal East (3) and Kakching (2). The facility wise distributions are RIMS (1). JNIMS (2), Shija Hospital (1) and Babina (2),” it added. The cumulative number of deaths is 1039.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 63.538. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 52,961. The number of active cases is 9,538. The recovery rate is 83.35 %, said the report.

Oxygen status

In the last 24 hours, a total of 2,049 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 452 B- type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur. District Hospitals and Government institutions have 465D, 117B filled cylinders out of these
