RPF mourns as 6 PLA cadres killed in alleged security force ‘covert ops’

Offering condolences on the demise, the outfit said the six cadres attained their martyrdom for the motherland after some black sheep operatives staged ambush at three locations

Proscribed Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) has admitted death of six PLA cadres in alleged covert operations conducted by Indian security force in the wee hours of August 9 violating the United Nations’ convention on warfare. Offering condolences on the demise, the outfit said the six cadres attained their martyrdom for the motherland after some black sheep operatives staged ambush at three locations.  

The statement by RPF’s Assistance Secretary, Publicity Bankim identified the deceased as 1. MC-157 Elangbam Biramani @ Major Boycha son of Elangbam Pishak and Elangbam ongbi Kunjabati, resident of Kakching Turel Wangma Uyokching; MC-382 Keisham Somen @ 2nd Lt. Suresh, son of Late Keisham Tomba Meitei and Keisham ongbi Tombirei of Tentha Morongban; A-3277 Chabungbam Chaoba @ Cpl Ayangba @ Kabijit son of Ch SHyamchand and Chabungbam ongbi Premi, resident of Yairipok Bishnunaha Mayai Leikai; A-3271 Thangjam Nanao @ Cpl Lanthouba, son of Thangjam Biren and Thangjam Ongbi Achoubi Leima, of Taret Khun; A-3294 Thokchom Johnson Meitei @ Cpl Leimaba son of Thokchom Chandrakumar and (Late) Thokchom (O)Anita of Khangabok Khullakpam Leikai and Adhikarimayum Kiran Sharma @  Pte. Tomcha son of Late Adhikarimayum Khrishna Sharma and Late Adhikarimayum Dhanapati of Keilashor Unukuli, Tripura.

The statement said that Major Bocha joined the RPF on July 20, 1996. He received PLA’s basic military training. After he successfully completed basic training, War office assigned him A-1213. Giving the reason for his joining the RPF, Bocha said he believed he has a role to regain our lost Independence of our mother land and dismantle chain of Indian colonialism.” He had served in signal department of252 M/Bn, GHQ and other units. Despite languishing in jail after his arrest by enemy, he worked for the outfit till his last breath. He was Deputy Commander SCOM-1 when he martyred.

2nd Lt. Suresh’s love for his motherland drove him to join the RPF on July 31, 2007. After he completed PLA’s basic military training on October 18, 2007, war office gave him A-2946. He served in 252 M/Bn. GHQ and SCOM-1.

Cpl Angamba joined the outfit on September 20, 2015 as he wanted to protect his community and his motherland. He completed PLA’s basic military training on May 17, 2016 and was offered A-3277 by war office. Cpl Lanthouba joined the RPF on July 15, 2015 and completed PLA’s basic military training Novemebr 8, 2015. He was granted A-3271 bu war office.

Cpl Leimaba joined the RPF on June 14, 2016 and after completed PLA’s basic military training on December 25, 2016. Pte Tomcha joined the RPF on February 15, 2016 and completed basic military training of the PLA on May 17, 2016.

Describing all the six cadres as calm, sincere and courteous army of outfit, the RPF offered the condolences and shared grief and pain of the family member of the departed cadres.
