Royal Riders Manipur (RRM) on Saturday celebrated its 14th foundation day at its office at Meitei Langol, Imphal. The solemn function was attended by the members of the biker’s club along with the family members of the former members who passed away.
Floral tributes were also paid to the photos of the members who had passed away. One minute silence was also observed to honour them. Hoisting of the club’s flag and luncheon marked the occasion.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines, RRM president Momo Laishram said that this year’s celebration has been toned down due to the prevailing situations induced by COVID-19 pandemic. Although the club began its journey in 2005, it was registered in 2007. Since its inception the motorcycle club has been involved in imparting humanitarian assistance to the far flung places which were not motorable, he added.
Maintaining that the club is committed to environmental activities, Momo said that whenever there is wildfire in the Langol range, the members have actively participated in dousing it.
Sticking to the club’s moto “serving with adventure”, RRM has been conducting health camps and helping the destitute sans caste or creed as an annual event, he said. In the coming years the club plans to host international biker tourists and show them the scenic beauty of the state, he informed.
Senior members of the club Ibohal, Biren, Pherojit, Chaobi, RK Tombisana, and Thokchom Lokeshwor sat on the dias.
