Result of essay competition on COVID-19 declared

Essays written by Gurumayum Lamleima, Glady Kshetrimayun, and Lhingneilam Touthang (Anju) were judged as the first, second, and third respectively.

Result of an essay competition titled “Covid-19 Pandemic and the Conditions of the Students in Manipur ” was declared on Sunday. Essays written by Gurumayum Lamleima, Glady Kshetrimayun, and Lhingneilam Touthang (Anju) were judged as the first (Rs. 3000), second (Rs. 2000), and third (Rs. 1000) respectively.

The competition was organised by the Campaign for Peace & Democracy (Manipur) with the support of KanglaOnline, Yaol Publishing (London), journal Beyond the Horizon, and Gateway Trading Academy Imphal.

The cash prizes were dedicated to late Fepu Dulop and Abok Mani by Dulop Mast Loktak Smoke Fish, Ithing.

Additional SP Brinda Thaonaojam, who also attended the virtual function, exhorted the students to cultivate a habit of critical thinking. She opined that such essay competitions will help the young students to that effect. She also offered her help and suggested the students to get in touch with her in future.

The jury members, who judged the ten best essays, included Beerjurekha Samom, Md Races Ahamed, Monica Arambam, Priyobaia Irengbam, and RK Gunikanta.

Essays in the category of best ten essays and all other participants will receive certificates.
