With the launching of “Swachhata Hi Seva 2021” by the Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul on September 15, 2021, PHED Ukhrul Division has begun various activities at different places of Ukhrul District.
PHED Ukhrul successfully conducted a cleanliness drive on Friday at Talui in association with Talui Reisang Youth Club (TRYC). Many youths from Talui participated in the drive that includes roadside cleanliness and plastic waste collection in the locality. TRYC is well known for their famous “Kharing Kharak Pheichak” (folk dance) and has represented Tangkhul in various platforms, including the 5th International Tourism Mart for North East Region held at Imphal in 2016.
In Ukhrul Headquarters, PHED Ukhrul in collaboration with Seipet Zingsho Phungreitang Youth (SZPY) also carried out cleanliness drive at Gandhi Circle, Phungreitang, Ukhrul and clean and whitewash the public toilet situated inside the Mini Secretariat Complex, Ukhrul. Around 25 youths from Seipet Zingsho Phungreitang participated in the cleanliness drive.
Activities like cleaning of public places, construction of soak pits, and compost pits, plastic waste collection, door-to-door waste collection and roadside cleanliness will be taken up at various places of Ukhrul District under Swachhata Hi Seva 2021 campaign that will wind up on October 2, 2021.
