People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) on Saturday said it warmly welcomed the decision of the NSCN (K) led by Niki Sumi, to join the ongoing peace process between the government of India and the Naga National Political (NNP) organisations.

A joint release by PDA chairman Chingwang Konyak (NDPP president) and PDA co-chairman Temjeng Imna Along (BJP president) said that this speaks volumes of the commitment of the Naga leaders towards bringing a final solution to the Naga issue and their desire that peace prevails amongst the Nagas. The PDA continues to encourage all stakeholders to come together for our common cause and desire for peace, development and unity, it added.

The PDA further appealed to the government of India and the “negotiating parties” to expedite the ongoing talks so that the much anticipated final settlement of the Naga issue is realised in a “honourable” and “inclusive” manner in 2021.

While greeting the people of Nagaland a very happy and blessed New Year, PDA said that though 2020 was a difficult and challenging year for the world, the support of the people of Nagaland has helped the government of Nagaland in handling the pandemic successfully.

“It is our prayer that this 2021 will be a year of hope and joy. The PDA reaffirms our commitment towards serving the people of the State with dedication and steadfastness,” it said.

“We stand committed to our motto ‘Together with all! Development for all!’,” it added.
