Three cadres belonging to a suspected Kuki militants’ group KNF (N) were arrested by a combined force on Monday.
According to sources, the arrested are identified as Hentinseh Singsit, 30, son of Janglam of Motbung Phoipi Leikai, Seigoulun Singshit, 20 son of late Paokhomang of Motbung Phoipi Leikai and Kevin ,25, of Pangmol, Kangpokpi.
Police will convene a press conference at 2 pm to brief the media on the development.
However, the sources said that the arrested were suspected to have been involved in killing four civilians, including the chief of the MP Khullen village and a minor boy, on October 12 morning. The civilians were killed when some armed militants opened fire at the villagers who were holding a meeting to condole the death of four Kuki militants gunned by the security forces in an encounter in the nearby Maphou dam area on October 11.
