Nagas of Arunachal pledge support to Naga Hoho

Naga Hoho of Arunachal Pradesh has urged all tribes of hoho, civil societies and Naga people to support Naga Hoho so as to achieve the final peace accord during this crucial period when the final peace accord is the final stage.

A press statement signed by Convenor of Naga HoHo of TCL L Wanglat and president Arunachal Naga Students Federation Gawang Hakhun stated that the Nagas of Arunachal will continue to support Naga Hoho to bring peace and final resolution between Government of India and NSCN (IM) and 7NNPGs.

The statement said, “The Naga Hoho was formed by the Naga people on the foundation of tribes HOHO with an objective to uphold solidarity, rebuilt Naga family to facilitate settlement of Naga issue to protect Naga system and tradition and to promote social, culture, economic and political heritage on 11th & 12th March, 1998 session at Zunhebuto.”

Claiming that the Naga Hoho has played an immense role in resolving conflict situations amongst different factions of Nagas, the statement asserted the Naga Hoho also played an important role to expedient peace process between Government of India and the NSCN. “The Naga Hoho believed that all settlements should be inclusive and all the different Naga underground factions by playing the role of facilitator and adopted various measures to achieve the goal despite the fact that Naga Hoho was not a party of the peace talk,” It added.

The statement further said the organisation has played very important role as a facilitator. All the credit goes to the Naga Hoho for the reconciliation process with the people of Nagas beyond unexplainable tragedies on Naga’s killing fellow Naga’s that could wreck peace talk with the Government of India.

The Naga Hoho burned midnight lamps to ensure all Nagas safety irrespective of their tribes, council or region brought into one Naga unity, it claimed. The Naga Hoho, therefore, initiated reconciliation process to unite the 39 Naga tribes. The Naga Hoho have also initiated in sending peace talk and dialogue with people to people to the States of Assam and Manipur. They have a proposal to visit Arunachal Pradesh, it added.

“We believe the strength of the Naga Hoho is derived from the Strength of the tribes Hoho. Therefore the Naga Hoho tribes should play a meaningful role in strengthening the Naga Hoho, particularly in their effort towards reconciliation without boundary,” it said
