Rising People’s Party (RPP), Nagaland while condemning the “utter lies and despicable statement” made by the union Home minister, Amit Shah, recently with regard to the Oting massacre made in the parliament have raised eyebrows whether the UDA government would condemn the “fabricated statement”.
According to RPP, the fabricated statement of Amit Shah was like rubbing salt to the wounds which had worsened the situation in the state leading to more protests including burning of his effigies in different parts of the state.
The RPP demanded that the Home Minister retract his fabricated statement which was made to confuse the outside world and protect the murderers in the guise of 21 Para SF.
Amit Shah made the condemnable statement on the December 6 but even after a week the three parties of the ruling UDA coalition are yet to condemn the fabricated statement.
The RPP also demanded that the NDDP, BJP and the NPF condemn Amit Shah’s statement in totality.

In order that justice is swiftly served to the victims of the Oting massacre, the RPP demands included that on December 20, all the 60 MLAs of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly should condemn the Oting massacre by the 21 Para SF, a resolution should be adopted that the killings were nothing but cold-blooded murder, targeted killings by army personnel for promotion and medals has been established and documented in Kashmir and elsewhere and such could be assumed for this case.
It also said that the Mon killings requires a thorough probe by a sitting Judge of the High court/Supreme Court and the NLA should adopt a resolution demanding for the constitution of a Supreme Court led independent probe and in the interest of justice the state government should pursue this issue at the highest level.
Another disturbing pattern, the RPP stated was the role of the DC and SP of Mon district.
“Between the 1st firing and the 2nd firing by the 21 Para SF, there was a gap of almost 5 hours. During this crucial period, the district administration went missing”, said RPP.
It further demanded that both the DC and the SP are suspended immediately till the outcome of the SIT report is made known.
