Joint Coordination Committee of Villages (JCCV) comprising of 45 villages within Dhansiripar sub-division, Dimapur, Nagaland on Thursday took out a peacefully rally against the decision of the state authorities who had merged these villages with the newly
created Chümoukedima district.
The demand of the villages was to reconsider Nagaland Government’s earlier notification in resolving the issue pertaining to the bifurcation of Dimapur district before January 20.
According to Advisor and GB, JCCV, H Vikuto Swu, memorandums have been submitted to concerned authorities and the same had been forwarded to the Nagaland government through SDO (Civil) and the Nagaland Chief Secretary, for further perusal. Vikuto lamented that despite the many reminders, the Nagaland government continued to be silent on the issue.
Vikuto H Swu, who is also the President of Sema Dimasa Union Dhansiripar sub-division, Dimapur, has called for unity of its members in voicing the fulfillment of its demands. He also expressed dismay over the system of “divide and rule” which was clearly visible in the state. Vikuto urged the chief minister to listen to the voice of the people and their plea.
