Nagaland: Akato Chophi expelled from NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) active service

NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) extended gratitude to NNPGs convenor N Kitovi Zhimomi, and co-convenor, Zophra Vero, Isak Sumi, including all other members of the Working Committee (WC) for their efforts to “douse the crisis”.

NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) president Y Wangtin Naga, has informed the Naga people that in spite of all efforts from its group to prevent “unwanted situation”, its “vice-president” Akato Chophi has chosen to “stray away” from the NSCN/GPRN (Reformation).

The NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) president, Y Wangtin, and Ato Kilonser, P Tikhak, through a joint press statement issued on Friday informed that it has expelled Akato Chophi from active “National service” with immediate effect for his “anti-party” activities.

NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) through the press statement has also extended gratitude to NNPGs convenor, N Kitovi Zhimomi, and co-convenor, Zophra Vero, Isak Sumi, including all other members of the Working Committee (WC) for taking out their precious and putting all efforts to “douse the crisis”. They further thanked the Naga people for their constant prayer support during the trying times.  

However, there are media reports stating that Akato Chophi has become the newly-elected president of NSCN (R). He had also claimed the support of over 2,000 members and insisted that the split was not for “personal profit but for the common good of our government and the people”.
