MPCC resolves to ‘save Manipur from drug menace, drug lords, their patrons’

The two-day session of MPCC office-bearers and PCC members also unanimously proposed Rahul Gandhi to be appointed as 89th president of the Indian National Congress.

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee on Thursday resolved to “save the state of Manipur from drug menace, drug lords and their patrons” in its two-day joint session of office-bearers and PCC members held at the Congress Bhawan on BT Road in Imphal.

The session also “unanimously” proposed Rahul Gandhi to be appointed as 89th president of the Indian National Congress. Rahul Gandhi is one of the most capable leaders in the Congress who can lead the party in the path of honesty, truth, perseverance and sincerity. The Congress party in Manipur is confident to further strengthen the party across the state under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, a release said.

The release also said that the leaders and workers of the Congress party solemnly resolved to work and strengthen the party in Manipur under the guidance of AICC leadership. “Today when our country is in dire situation, it is the need of the hour to promote the ideology and principle of the Congress party to save India’s long standing unity in diversity,” it added.

The two day session also resolved to fight all the “communal and divisive forces” and to support the movement of the farmers to repeal “Anti-farmer”, farm laws in the line of AICC.
