A total of 20,526 people from Ukhrul District have received their vaccination till date.

Under the programme of “Seva Hi Sangathan II”, a mass COVID-19 vaccination drive was held on Wednesday at Alungtang, Ukhrul. The mass vaccination drive was organised by BJP 44-Ukhrul Mandal, BJYM in collaboration with Ukhrul District Health Society.
Speaking to this correspondent, YUVA Morcha of 44-Ukhrul Mandal president, Thingthing Horam stated that “because of the COVID-19 pandemic many of us are facing hardship, mentally and even financially. If all of us get vaccinated, it will also help us in containing the spread of the virus”.
“We will be organising mass COVID vaccination drives in different places and will try to cover localities in Ukhrul Town and other villages. We plan to reach out to more people for getting vaccinations at the earliest.
“Through surveys and reports, we have come to know that Ukhrul District has a low ratio of vaccination. We will reach out to people, create awareness and clear the confusion of the people.”
Thingthing Horam added that “if all of us get vaccinated, Ukhrul would be a safer place and we can get back and start our normal life again.”
DIO of Ukhrul, Dr. Pamza Luikham informed that a total of 117 people were vaccinated on Wednesday at Alungtang. Between the age group of 18 – 44 years, 41 people got their first dose and six individuals received their second dose. Between the age group of 45 – 59 years, five people received their first dose and 32 people got their second dose. Seven people received their first dose and 26 their second dose in the 60 years and above category.
A total of 20,526 people from Ukhrul District have received their vaccination till date. The drive was attended by Ex-MLA and candidate of 44-Ukhrul Assembly Constituency from BJP, Somatai Shaiza, president of BJP 44-Ukhrul Mandal, Longyao Raihing, general secretary of BJP 45-Chingai Mandal, Bejoy Shatsang, general secretary of BJP 44-Ukhrul Mandal, Aso Chihui and other members of BJP from 44-Ukhrul Mandal.
