A delegation of Manipur Hockey led by Hockey India president Gyanendro Ningombam and Manipur Hockey president Basudev Singh on Tuesday visited the residences of Sh Nilakanta Sharma (Ahallup) and Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam (Thangmeiband) to give blessings to the two olympians, and wish them a golden performance during the Tokyo Olympics 2021.
The delegation held a small blessing ceremony at the residence of Nilakanta Sharma at Kontha Ahallup in presence of officials and players of YCCIC and parents of the olympian. The delegation wished Nilakanta Sharma for his best performance through telephonic conversation.
Later, the delegation went to the residence of Sushila Chanu at Thangmeiband where a small ceremony was held. She was also wished all the best performance through telephonic conversation.
General secretary of Manipur Hockey Seram Neken, members of MH, Ch Balla and N Rameshore were also present.
It may be mentioned that Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam and Sh Nilakanta Sharma have been selected in the Indian women’s and men’s hockey teams for the Tokyo Olympics 2020-21.
