Conrad Sangma on Sunday exuded confidence that NPP will emerge as the single largest party and form the government.

Just a week before Manipur go to poll for the first phase, National People’s Party chief Conrad Sangma on Sunday exuded confidence that NPP will emerge as the single largest party and form the government.

Addressing the electorate at the flag hoisting ceremony of Sheikh Noorul Hassan, NPP candidate of Kshetrigao AC, the Meghalaya chief minister asserted that as the others continue to attack NPP, it will grow stronger.

Regarding Friday’s incident where unknown miscreants shot at and injured the father of NPP candidate of Andro AC, L Sanjoy, Conrad Sangma said that the NPP has officially complained to the CEO of Manipur and Election Commission of India to take necessary step to conduct the upcoming election in a free and fair manner.

The NPP chief expressed apprehension of involvement of armed groups in poll related violence and intimidation to the NPP candidates and workers.

“Steps should be taken in the best possible way to provide enough security to the candidate to make sure that the upcoming election is conducted without fear and in a free and fair manner”, Conrad K Sangma said.

NPP candidate Sheikh Noorul Hassan exuded confidence that he will emerge victorious in the upcoming election by a huge margin defeating the incumbent BJP MLA.

He asserted that it is time for the people to choose the right candidate and wipe out communal politics, while urging the people to elect the candidate who can bring inclusive development in the Kshetrigao AC.
