The Khangshim Youth Club “vehemently” condemned the alleged “merciless thrashing” of two Khangshim youths, who were passing along the Khangshim village road, by the escorts of MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar Singh without any unprovoked reasons on the night of December 2, 2021.
The brutal beating of the two youths by the escorts of the MLA under the heavy influence of alcohol, and further threatening the villagers, who came out after hearing the cries and screams of the victims, with guns and rifles have shocked the villagers and has generated a feeling of insecurity, the youth club said in a release.
Stating that such abuses are unacceptable and shall not be tolerated by any community, the youth club said that the “communal abuses” hurled by the drunken escorts while beating up the two innocent victims and threatening the villagers have created deep communal disharmony and have disturbed the peace and tranquillity of the village.
“The Khangshim Youth Club hopes that such brutality is not repeated in the future to avoid any unwanted incident, and that the victims are duly compensated,” it added.
