KCP observes 43rd anniversary

KCP’s 43rd anniversary was observed at the Central Head Quarters (CHQ), General Head Quarters (GHQ), Training Centre, and various Tactical Units, said the press release.

Proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) on April 14 observed its 43rd anniversary at 131 Bn.

According to a press release, the anniversary function was attended by KYKL/MYL’s 1st Bn’s CO Dhana as chief guest and KCP/MFL’s G3, Cde. N Mani presided the programme. The function was also attended by KYKL/MYL’s Deputy CO, Tamba, KCP/MFL’s 131 Bn’s CO in Charge Cde Guliver, KCP/MFL’s 131 Bn. Deputy CO, Cde. Cuba and KCP/MFL’s Cde. Saiyon as special guests.

The day began by lighting the lamp by the chief guest and hoisting of the flag by president of the function. The annual message of the central committee was read out by Cde. Saiyonna.

In his address, chief guest Dhana said that many youths of both sexes have been indulging in consumption of illicit drugs and they have been trapped as victims in the nets of those dealing in the illegal trade of drugs. He pointed out that many drug dealers have become rich and some have even contested elections to be part of the ruling dispensation, alleged the chief guest.

As per the press release, Dhana is reported to have stated that since the drug dealers have become part of the government, Manipur is now in a state of chaos besides endangering the lives of people. He then appealed to the people to jointly fight against the menace of drugs so as to bring about a changed society towards progress.

Later, the president of the function, G3, Cde. Mani in his speech referred to the role of women in society and said that women had taken key role in the development of economic progress. He appealed to the women to continue to take part in the economic activities with an attitude that showcases their bravery and endurance like the womenfolk of the past.
