As in other parts of the world, Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL) and Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) also organised the International Mother Language Day on Monday at Sagolband Thingom Leikai Community Hall, Imphal.
On the occasion, DESAM president Leishangthem Lamyanba Meetei stressed on the importance and need for using mother language in schools.
K Chinglenkhomba Research Scholar Sichuan University, China, and MEELAL president Yanglem Biren also shared their views on the occasion.
