Imphal East police on Wednesday arrested three persons after a hot pursuit and seized drugs worth Rs 30 lakh.
Based on reliable information about movement of drug traffickers, a team of Imphal East police under the supervision of Imphal East SP rushed to Lilong Kaleikhong area at around 1.30 pm on Wednesday.
According to police, when the police team tried to stop a car (Maruti Ciaz) for verification, it sped away. After a hot pursuit, the car was finally stopped at Kyamgei Shantipur.
The three occupants — Md Taslimuddin a.k.a. Taslim (25), S/o Md Ejaoddin of Lilong Tairen Makhong, Thoubal; Md Mujibur a.k.a. Rafique (46), S/o (L) Md Abdul Manan a.k.a Iboyai of Lilong Haoreibi Sambrukhong, Thoubal, and Md Fazul Haque (25), S/o (L) Md. Nashib Ali of Lilong Chandakhong, Thoubal, were immediately detained.
The police also seized 11 soap caps containing suspected Heroin powder weighing 150 gms, worth around Rs 30 lakh in international market from their possession. The car with registration number MN06LA-8818, a purse with Rs 1,180 in cash and two smartphones were also seized.
The three individuals were arrested and handed over to Irilbung Police Station for further necessary action.
