A 60-year-man from Kalapahar died of post COVID on Thursday pushing the death toll in the district to 39. Ved Prakash Pradhan was discharge after 10 days of home isolation on Tuesday and died after three days of discharged. He was a diabetic patient. He had shortness of breathing in the afternoon and succumbed few minutes later, said a family member.
He was cremated following strict COVID protocols by the family members and volunteers of COVID Task Force Kalapahar under the supervision of Dr. Pilhing, MO incharge PHC Kalapahar.
Meanwhile, mass vaccination cum advocacy program was held at Daili village under Kangpokpi AC under the initiative of the local MLA Nemcha Kipgen.
The event was organised by COVID Task Force Yaikongpao-Tumnoupokpi in collaboration with Health Society Kangpokpi block under the supervision of Dr. Pilhing, MO incharge PHC Kalapahar.
Around 161 beneficiaries got vaccinated during the vaccination program.
Mass Covishield vaccination was also conducted at Lungphou village by a medical team led by Dr. Khomba under the supervision of Dr. Paotinlal Haokip, MS District Hospital Kangpokpi today.
Interestingly, the village chief Dennis Sehminthang Misao himself led the vaccination by vaccinating himself first and his villagers followed him. Around 33 people were vaccinated.
