COVID-19: Manipur reports record 13 deaths, taking death toll to 477

As per the latest IDSP Manipur update, the number of active cases on home isolation has now increased to 1,960.

Manipur on Thursday reported a record 13 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 447. 

The number of active cases in the state has now surged to 2991, as 380 fresh cases were reported on Thursday. As per the latest IDSP Manipur update, the number of active cases on home isolation has now increased to 1,960.

In the last 24 hours, 13 persons aged 40 yrs (male, Imphal East), 55 yrs (male, Churachandpur), 67 yrs. (male, Kakching), 63 yrs (female, Bishnupur), 45 yrs (male, Imphal West), 55 yrs (male, Imphal West), 46 yrs (male, Bishnupur), 52 yrs (female, Imphal West), 78 yrs (male, Imphal East), 80 yrs (male, Imphal East), 50 yrs (male, Imphal West), 66 yrs (male, Imphal East), and 75 yrs (male, Imphal West) expired at Bal Bhavan (1), District Hospital Churachandpur (1), Jivan Hospital (1), RAJMED (1), Shija Hospital (2), JNIMS (4), and RIMS (3) respectively, according to the Health Department.

In the past 24 hours. 362 persons (192 male, 170 female) from the general population and 18 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVIDI9 positive cases.

Imphal West (170) and Imphal East (116) continue to report the majority of the fresh cases. The other positive cases from the general population are from Churachandpur (29), Kakching (23), Tamenglong (5), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (4), Kangpokpi (4), Ukhrul (4), Noney (1), and Senapati (1). 

As many as 33 patients were discharged from Home Isolation (14), RIMS (8) RD Wing (1), Bal Bhavan (2), and SHRI (8).

The cumulative number of positive cases has now reached 33,733 (General Population – 30,109 and Central Security Personnel 3,624). The recovery rate is 89.80 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 677 D type Oxygen cylinders and 516 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur, according to the Health Department. 

Air passengers who travelled to the state on May 3 by Air India flight AI-3713 in rows 12 18 have been instructed to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing.

As per the latest information 2,42,359 individuals have been vaccinated in the state, out of which 73,203 have received the second dose. 

A total of 2,358 test results were received on Thursday, and 17 tests were conducted at the airport, according to the IDSP Manipur update. 

Meanwhile, India reported 4.12 lakhs new COVID-19 cases and 3,980 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry.

While 3.29 lakhs patients were discharged during the period, the number of active cases in the country stands at 35.66 lakhs. 

The total caseload has now reached 2.11 crore with a death toll of more than 23 lakhs. So far around 16.25 crore individuals have been vaccinated in the country.
