COVID-19: Manipur reports 13 more deaths, 424 fresh infections

Manipur on Monday reported 13 more COVID deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 489. As many as 424 fresh cases were reported, and with it the cumulative number of positive cases stands at 35,778 (General Population 32,110 and Central Security Personnel 3,668).

According to the Health Department, in the past twenty-four hours 414 persons (212 male and 202 female) from the general population and 10 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases, out of the 2,513 test results received. The state positivity rate now hovers around 16.87 percent.

The number of active cases in the state stands at 4,604 (General Population – 4422 and Central Security Personnel – 182), out of which 2,748 are in home isolation.

The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal West (175), Imphal East (157), Bishnupur (30), Churachandpur (18), Jiribam (11), Thoubal (8), Chandel (3), Kakching (3), Kangpokpi (3), Tamenglong (2), and one each from Noney, Senapati, Tengnoupal, and Ukhrul.

In the last 24 hours, 13 persons aged 42 yrs (female, Imphal East), 43 yrs (male, Imphal West), 48 yrs (male, Imphal West), 46 yrs (male, Chandel), 92 yrs (female, Thoubal), 73 yrs (male, Thoubal), 60 yrs (female, Imphal West), 65 yrs (male, Imphal West), 39 yrs ( male, Bishnupur), 33 yrs (female, Kakching), 66 yrs (male. Imphal West), 72 yrs (female, Imphal West), and 62 yrs (male, Imphal West) expired at Raj Medicity (1), Shija Hospital (2), DH Chandel (1), DH Thoubal (1), JNIMS (1) and RIMS(7) hospital respectively.

As many as 87 persons were discharged during the period from — CAPF (3), Home Isolation (41), RIMS (8). RD Wing (2), LANVA (10), BB (1). DH Churachandpur (1), CCC Kakching (1), Jiribam (1), CCC Bishnupur (7) and Ukhrul (12). The recovery rate is 85.76 %.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1020 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 524 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur. District Hospitals have 128 D and 85 B type filled cylinders of which Bishnupur have (13D, 8B), Chandel (18D, 6B), Churachandpur (24D, 10B), Senapati (6D,7B), Thoubal (23D, 11B), Ukhrul (9D,16B), Tamenglong (15D,21B), and Jiribam (20D,6B), according to the Health Department.

Meanwhile, India reported 3.66 lakh new COVID-19 cases and 3,753 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry. 3.53 lakh patients were discharged during the period.

The active cases now stand at 37.45 lakhs. The number of the total cases in the country has reached 2.27 crore and 2.46 lakhs deaths. 17.02 crore individuals have been vaccinated in the country.
