Manipur on Wednesday reported 775 new COVID-19 cases out of 8944 tests, and seven deaths. The daily positivity rate stayed below 10 per cent at 8.67 per cent.
Active cases in the state have surged to 9,307. Out of these, 4,175 active cases are in home isolation, according to the Health Department.
The positive cases from the general population are — 237 persons from Imphal West, 165 from Imphal East, 112 from Thoubal, 109 from Churachandpur, 57 from Kakching, 48 from Bishnupur, 13 from Kangpokpi, 10 from Chandel, eight each from Senapati and Jiribam, four from Tengnoupal, two from Noney, and one each from Ukhrul and Tamenglong (1).
In the last 24 hours ending 5 pm Wednesday, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee has reported seven Covid 19 deaths — three persons from Imphal West, and one each from Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching, and Churachandpur. They died at RIMS (2), JNIMS (3), Babina (1), and DH Churachandpur (1).
On Wednesday, 602 persons were discharged, out of which 367 are from home isolation, 15 are from RIMS (7) and JNIMS (8) and the rest 220 are from other COVID care facilities. The recovery rate is 82.17 %.
The total number of infections in the state has reached 57,351 and 915 total deaths.
Oxygen Status
According to the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 1401 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 552 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur. District Hospitals and government institutions have 403 D, 87 B filled cylinders; out of these —
