COVID-19 Manipur: 12 more succumb to infection, 461 test positive in 24 hours

As per the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 1074 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 500 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.

The dreaded COVID-19 claimed 12 more lives on Saturday in Manipur, taking the death toll to 461. Out of the 2,824 test results received, 442 people were found to be positive.

The number of active cases in the state has now surged to 3,851 (General Population – 3675 and Central Security Personnel – 176). As per the latest IDSP Manipur update, 2,492 active cases are on home isolation at present.

In the last 24 hours, 12 persons aged 76 yrs (female, Kangpokpi), 58 yrs (female, Ukhrul), 41 yrs (female, Kangpokpi), 46 yrs (female, Imphal East), 65 yrs (male, Thoubal), 75 yrs (female, Imphal West), 72 yrs (female, Imphal East), 56 yrs (male, Imphal East), 60 yrs (male, Imphal West), 59 yrs (male, Imphal West), 82 yrs (female, Imphal West), and 60 yrs (male, Imphal West) expired at DH Kangpokpi (1), Shija Hospital (1). CMC (1), JNIMS (7) and RIMS(2) hospital respectively, according to the Health Department.

In the past 24 hours, 440 persons (212 male and 228 female) from the general population and two personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases.

The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal West (168), Imphal East (140), Kakching (32), Bishnupur (27), Thoubal (17), Churachandpur (15), Ukhrul (13), Noney (12), Chandel (5), Senapati (3), Jiribam (4), Tengnoupal (3), and Kangpokpi (1).

As many as 85 patients from CAPF (2), Home Isolation (68), JNIMS (2), RIMS (4), RD Wing (6), Jiribam (1), BB (1), and LANVA (1), were discharged during the period. The recovery rate has now fallen to 87.60 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 34,775 (General Population-31,125 and Central Security Personnel 3,650).

As per the latest information, as many as 2,58,740 individuals have been vaccinated in the state, out of which 75,014 have received the second dose.

Meanwhile, India reported 4.01 lakhs new COVID-19 cases and 4,187 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry. 3.18 lakhs patients were discharged during the period.

The active cases now stand at 37.23 lakhs. The number of the total cases in the country has reached 2.18 crore and 2.38 lakh deaths.
