Pandemic Management Sub Committee of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) donated eight D-Type Oxygen cylinders and three regulators to the Bishnupur District Hospital on Monday.
The cylinders and regulators were handed over to the CMO of Bishnupur District Hospital through the DC of Bishnupur by a team of Congress workers led by Pandemic Management Sub Committee chairman Dr. Kh. Ratankumar.
Dr Ratankumar said that the donation was part of the Congress party’s effort to fight the dreaded pandemic in their own capacity. The items were decided to be donated to Bishnupur District Hospital as it has no Oxygen plants of its own, he added.
MPCC president Govindas Konthoujam, who was also present during the occasion, maintained that “there should not be politics in dealing with the pandemic”.
Meanwhile, MPCC general secretary M Subashchandra handed over drinking water, face masks, hand sanitizers, amongst others to the community quarantine centres at Pitambara English School, Malom Mega High school, Mekola Gulap Hr Sec School and Kamakhya Pemton College.
