Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) on Monday has called for state-wide business closure on September 16.

According to a press statement jointly issued by CNCCI chairman Khekugha Muru, and general secretary, Seyievilie, the business closure is being called in solidarity to “shutter-down” call given by the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) against “multiple taxations” by Naga Political Groups (NPGs) and government agencies.
The statement also said that the business closure was called against the Nagaland government’s silence over the representation submitted to the chief secretary of Nagaland with various charter of demands.
The demands include the immediate resolution to “multiple taxations” by NPGs and removal of all forms of tax/fees collected by civic bodies on items that come under GST regime which has subsumed all taxes under “One Nation One Tax”.
The ,immediate implementation of SARFAESI Act, and to “reserve nominee representation” to municipal, town, and ad-hoc town council from business and trade bodies. It further informed that failure to issue a response from the state government even after the one day business closure, the CNCCI would step up its agitation.
