The core committee of the parliamentary committee on Naga political issue reconstituted after a revision of members

Naga People’s Front (NPF) MLA Kuzholuzo Azo Nienu has been appointed the post of “co-chairman” of the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) with cabinet minister rank status.
This was informed through an official notification by Nagaland chief secretary and cabinet secretary, J Alam, on May 7.
In another official update issued on Monday, J Alam stated that in partial “modification of the notifications” of even numbers dating back to June 16 and July 8 2021, the core committee of the parliamentary committee on Naga political issue stands “revised” with immediate effect.
The committee to be led included Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, as convener, deputy chief minister, Y Patton, and UDA chairman, TR Zeliang (co-conveners), and minister, planning and coordination, land revenue, and parliamentary affairs, Neiba Kruno, as member secretary.
The members for the said core committee would comprise of MP (Lok Sabha), Tokheho Yepthomi, MP (Rajya Sabha), S Phangnon Konyak, while another twenty elected members of the NLA drawn from NDPP, BJP, NPF, and an independent candidate.
Apart from the two MPs, agriculture and cooperation minister, G Kaito Aye, minister, EF & CC, YM Yollow Konyak, minister, Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir, advisor SW, Home Guards and Civil Defence, Noke Wangnao, advisor, works and housing, H Chuba Chang, advisor, veterinary and animal husbandry, women resources development, R Khing, MLAs Yitachu, Dr Chotisuh Sazo, and Muthingnyuba Sangtam, are members from the NDPP camp.
BJP is led by health and family welfare minister, S Pangnyu Phom, minister, TPT, land resources development, P Paiwang Konyak, PHED minister, Jacob Zhimomi, advisor IT and C, S&T, N&RE, Mmhonlumi Kikon, and advisor, prisons, printing and stationery, H Haiyang.
The four NPF legislators of the NPF included Kuzholuzo Neinu, Dr Ngangshi K Ao, Kezhienyi Khalo, and Khriehu Liezietsu.
The lone independent member of the committee is former NSF president, Tongpang Ozukum, who holds the berth of minister Housing.
