Kangpokpi District Administration in the presence of Kangpokpi AC MLA on Thursday held a joint meeting with representatives of all stakeholders in connection with the Asian Highway expansion issue along the NH-2 at Conference Hall, DC office Kangpokpi.

The joint meeting was attended by the Asian Highway Land Affected Villages Chairmen/Chiefs Association, Kangpokpi District Joint Chief Coordinating Committee on Land Matters, TSA Sadar Hills, and All Manipur Gorkha Students’ Union Manipur.

According to a source from AHLAVCCA, during the meeting Kangpokpi DC Somorjit Salam urged the representative of AHLAVCCA and other representatives to allow a survey of standing properties by PWD.

However, representatives of AHLAVCCA and other representatives strongly objected to the deputy commissioner appeal and made their stand clear that until and unless the land matters are resolved, no work related to the Asian Highway expansion be carried out and no more talks and meetings will be entertained unless it is declared unsurveyed land.
