The annual general body meeting of All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU) has been postponed till further notice due the prevailing situations induced by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The GB meeting was supposed to take place on May 1, 2021.
An office memo has been issued by AMWJU vice president Soubam Bokuljaoba Meetei on Saturday in this regard.
“As the SoPs issued by the government does not permit collection of more than 20 persons thereby not enabling to hold the Annual General Body Meeting, the Standing Committee has discussed the current situation in detail and decided to postpone the scheduled Annual General Body Meeting until further order,” it stated.
The election for the new office bearers of AMWJU for the term 2021-23, which is supposed to be held on May 1, has also been postponed until further notice. Three candidates are vying for the post of president and 11 candidates for the Standing Committee.
